3 Podcasts I Can't Stop Listening to

. 3 min read

Recently I’ve picked up a new hobby – podcasts. Not so long ago, I preferred reading while travelling to work in the morning. But, as it’s challenging to grasp the whole idea of the book during a 10 minutes trip in the subway, I decided to quit. Instead, I keep enjoying books in the evening.

But, to spice up my everyday trips, I decided to give podcasts a try. And I liked it! Although, I’ll be lying if I say that I’ve subscribed to all popular podcasts on productivity, time-management and all other things popular to know about in the 21st century. I’d rather listen to something about wellness, especially mental health and learn from the life-lessons of the people I admire.

So, I found three amazing podcasts, the hosts of which became my companions during the everyday commute. So, here are three interesting podcasts that I keep listening to:

1. Happy Place

I discovered Happy Place when Zoe Sugg shared a link to an episode she took part in as a guest. Zoe told the story about her struggles with anxiety and panic attacks. I found the topic so interesting and was really grasped by the soft dialogue between a famous YouTuber and Fearne Cotton, host of a podcast.

Fearne is a British radio presenter and writer. As the name of her show suggests, she talks about creating a happy place in our minds, free from all worries and problems of modern life. Fearne is a brilliant interviewer, as she listens to all her guests carefully and dives deeply into the topic. She isn’t ashamed to share her own struggle with mental health, and I’m honestly impressed by her transparency.

My favourite episodes are the ones with Maisie Williams (of course!), Stephen Fry and Dolly Alderton. I highly recommend you to listen to Happy Place.

2. Deliciously Ella

Deliciously Ella is a podcast hosted by Ella and Matthew Mills, wife and husband and successful entrepreneurs. On their podcast, Matthew and Ella talk about physical and mental health, well-being and staying positive in this hasty world.

Each episode of Deliciously Ella focuses on one topic, such as finding happiness, making mistakes, looking for true love or recovering from grief and loss. Ella and Matthew invite authors, writers and experts to discuss things that matter to all of us. I mostly enjoyed the episodes about happiness with Fearne Cotton and complexities of love with Laura Mucha. If you feel lost and insecure, this podcast will help you regain your strength and find peace within yourself.

3. The High Low

Hope these summer pics remind you of the warm days

The High Low is the podcast that I didn’t get at the beginning. But, as I started to listen to it more and more, I fell in love with Pandora Sykes and Dolly Alderton. Their sarcastic, yet serious attitude towards things makes it easy to melt into the lighthearted and sometimes disturbing stories they tell.

The High Low podcast does provide me with food for thought. Pandora and Dolly are avid readers, so you will find a lot of book recommendations listening to The High Low. In the recent episode, A Bumper Back To School, Alderton and Sykes discussed their summer reads, and I already added Olive Kitteridge, by Elizabeth Strout to my ‘to-read’ list.

My list has come to an end. All of these podcasts are great and full of valuable insights. I hope you enjoy some of them on your daily commute or a cosy and relaxing evening at home.
